Hair why does this thing that covers my head cause so much controversy.

Mentally condition to think that if my kinks aren't straight than i'm nappy and being nappy couldn't possibly make you happy especially when u can be anything but.

With relaxers, chemicals, and heat u can be a long hair blonde or wear your hair in a short bob and for a couple hundred dollars u can have Indian in your family.

The hair business is a billion dollar industry and none of this money is spent in our community.

Scared to embrace who we are, our culture from which we were robbed, natural hair, braids, locks and dreadz. Afros with the picks that stand straight in our head like fist we once proudly threw in the air......

Right On my brothers and sistas from the mouths of leaders once glared.

 Passed down from generation to generation to generation from black to asian even malaysian its all fashion to us but for them its sacred.

By giving their hair to God, there letting go of there ego and when we purchase it ours multiply times 10. Covering up who we really are as if we are ashamed of the person within.

Cause that's the reflection we are suppose to project.

Society still won't accept our crown and glory, hardship stories, unanswered questions about our roots because that's where it all stems from the lack of knowledge forced to reinvent ourselves.

Talked about, teased and turned away because others aren't pleased with our outward appearance.

Bad hair days take control of us.

Good hair can be brought.
